# EC3 Updates - 18th June 2024

### Unified Tree for Materials and Assemblies

We have introduced a single, unified tree for Construction Materials and Building Assemblies.

Building Assemblies (formerly “multi-material elements”) are objects with multiple sub-parts, such as a stud wall or slab on metal deck. You can now create them by selecting a Building Assembly from the ‘Category’ tree.

We are continuing to add more Building Assembly calculators, mostly because of volunteers in each industry who share their estimation tools with us for the common good. Look for a major upgrade to CMU calculation soon!

### Find Available Calculators

Detailed calculators are available for many Material types, including structural steel, concrete, rebar, insulation, and more. These calculators make use of existing takeoffs, contain dropdowns of common material sizes, and will start you with a reasonable default.

A green icon above ‘Quantity’ will help you find elements where a calculator is available.

Click the green indicator to highlight any Calculator that hasn't yet been applied.

### Toggle Takeoff visibility

We have added a toggle to show or hide takeoff quantities from Revit, Civil3D, or another integration.

### View EPD Information for Building Elements

We now display the names of your Selected EPDs (Primary and Alternatives) below the Category for each Building Element. This text is a link, which opens the Collection.

You can use the “EPDs” toggle at the top of the table to show or hide the EPD for the selected material.

### Toggle Notes for Building Elements

You can now use the “Notes” toggle to show or hide your notes for building elements all at once. This lets you control the level of detail shown on the screen.
