Create tallyCAT View

The first thing you need to do to use Tally Climate Action Tool (tallyCAT) with the new Revit project after signing in is to create a special tallyCAT view. Later it will be used for all the operations performed by Tally Climate Action Tool (tallyCAT).

After successfully signing in, go to EC3 Analysis > Create tallyCAT view

After the view is created, Tally Climate Action Tool (tallyCAT) will automatically make it active and open the Manage Scope window where you could configure what’s exported. More on it is in the Manage Scope section.

You won’t see this command in the EC3 Analysis drop-down menu if a view with the name tallyCAT already exists in the project.

Please note, that you cannot rename the tallyCAT view. If you attempt to do so, Revit won’t allow it and an error will be displayed. After clicking Cancel the view will revert to its original name.

Deleting the tallyCAT view is permitted, but you’ll need to confirm this action first.

After the tallyCAT view is created, the EC3 Analysis drop-down menu will change displaying additional commands.

If you click Export to EC3, Manage Scope or Export to JSON, but the Tally Climate Action Tool (tallyCAT) won’t be able to find the dedicated tallyCAT view for some reason, the following warning will pop up.

If you choose Yes, Tally Climate Action Tool (tallyCAT) will automatically create the tallyCAT view and open the Manage Scope window.

Otherwise, the warning will close and the tallyCAT drop-down menu will revert to the initial state.
